Jim graduated from Indiana University in 1991 with a Bachelors degree in Accounting and received his CFE in 1994. He began his career with Jerman, Gallagher & Scherck (JGS), and a small CPA firm in Indianapolis. At JGS Jim performed audit, tax, and documentation work on a variety of individual, partnership, and corporate clients.

In 1994, Jim joined the Indiana Department Of Insurance as a field examiner performing statutory, financial, and market conduct examinations of Indiana domiciled insurance companies. While working at the IDOI, Jim became a Senior examiner and earned his CFE designation. As an Examiner-In-Charge at the IDOI, Jim was responsible for performing statutory examinations. He provided supervision of staff and gained working knowledge on property and casualty and life operations.

Jim joined Noble in 2000 and continues to serve as an Examiner-In-Charge on specialty insurers, small to medium sized insurers, and supervises larger examinations.
